Grace-Giving

Grace-giving means responsible stewardship. Here Paul continues with the same exhortation to the Corinthians and sets the life and ministry of Jesus as the model that we all should follow.  Participating in the grace of giving should not be a command and cannot be forced on anyone.  But with the right motivation, our hearts and minds can be set free to give generously and freely.  And this motivation is found in what Jesus did for all of us: although He was rich, He became poor so that we might become rich. In what ways did Jesus become poor for your sake? In what ways have you become rich in Christ? In what ways can giving express the freedom of the Gospel? How can one best understand Paul’s statement: “The goal is equality” (v. 14)?
