Weekly News
Week of February 9, 2025
Today: “Exactly What You Need: A Calling” • Readings: Luke 5:1-11; Isaiah 6:1-13; 1 Corinthians 14:12b-20 • How well do you know your purpose, your calling in life? For what purposes has God put you here, at this time, in this place? No matter your station in life, your status, what your past has been, or what brought you here today, Jesus’ words are clear: “Do not be afraid. Come, follow me, and you’ll catch people with my love.”

Upcoming Monthly Events
Ash Wednesday, March 5 – 11am Traditional Service (light lunch to follow) and 7pm Combined bilingual service • The Lenten season helps us as followers of Jesus to focus our attention on our need for repentance and to turn toward the redemptive mercy and forgiveness that is ours through Jesus. The sign of ashes speaks of the frailty and uncertainty of human life, marking the penitence of the Christian community. The sign of Cross reminds us of the lengths to which Jesus would go to redeem us and makes us God’s own. The 11am service will have a light lunch to follow.
Midweek Lenten Services at 11am Begin Wednesday, March 12 • We invite you to join us each Wednesday, beginning March 12, at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary as we gather for midweek Lenten worship services. Following worship there will be a light meal held in the FLC. Throughout the season of Lent, our midweek worship experiences help us as followers of Jesus to focus our attention on our need for repentance and to turn toward the redemptive mercy and forgiveness that is ours through Jesus. Especially these worship opportunities prepare us to celebrate with joy the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Day.
*Midweek Lenten Worship dates: March 19, March 26, April 2, April 9*
