Week of August 27, 2023

Today: “A Confident Faith Seeks the Lord’s Face” • Psalm 27:7-10; 2 Corinthians 4:7-18; John 16:28-33 • When we seek the Lord’s face, what will we find? A God who looks upon us in love. A Lord who is gracious at His core and would spare no cost—not even His one and only Son—to make us His own. This is the Lord almighty whom we seek, and He looks into our eyes tenderly. He will never forsake us. These eternal truths give us confidence as we face the everyday—and perhaps that urges us to seek the face of the Lord all the more. And because we seek the Lord’s face, when people look at us, they see reflected in us, the face of God.

Special: Lord God, turn our eyes upon Jesus so that we might soak in the fullness of Your face of love. Help us to reflect that love to all the world as we seek to be the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus here in the heart of Orlando. • We pray for those affected by the wildfires in Maui, as well as those who suffer from all manner of natural disasters around the globe. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Bless those hundreds of families that we were able to serve through Saturday’s Food Pantry. Draw all closer to You. • We thank You for teachers and the work they do. Bless them, as well as children and families throughout this school year. Be with college students as they are back on campus or attending school virtually. • We ask the Lord to be with President Biden, members of Congress, and the Supreme Court, as well as all state and local leaders. • Lord, watch over and keep our first responders safe.
