Week of February 12, 2023

Today in Worship Jesus Followers Are Set Apart • Matthew 5:21-37; Deuteronomy 39:15-20; 1 Corinthians 3:1-0; Psalm 119:1-8 • This week we again hear Jesus’ teaching as we follow Him. Jesus teaches with authority and power. He makes these 3 points clear about Himself: Jesus is God’s authorized agent of salvation. He has come to fulfill all God had foretold in Scripture about the Messiah. Jesus will perfectly keep all the requirements of God (Matthew 5:17-20). As Jesus teaches, He also makes clear that we are the people of God—people who are blessed, who are salt and light. And today Jesus teaches us how to live as God’s people—we have been set apart for God’s purposes. Jesus has called us to a to witness that is authentic and a love that is genuine. As you hear Jesus teach, where do you find that you most need His grace and forgiveness? Because you are forgiven, how can you pour out God’s love and mercy on others this week?

About this Series: “We Are Followers” • As God invites us to follow Jesus, our lives are transformed. More than that, as we spend time with Jesus following Him along the way, we continue to discover that His transformation in our lives, the ways that Jesus shapes our lives as we walk with Him, connect directly to His purposes for us. Jesus uses us to extend His invitation to others.

Bible Classes
Adult Sunday Morning Bible Class at 10:00 am • The class is led by Jim Essig. We are looking at the Gospel of Luke. Classes are in the Music Room during our 10:00 am Education Hour, between the 9 am & 11 am worship services.

Sunday School meets upstairs in the Family Life Center classrooms from 10:00-10:45 on Sunday mornings.
