Today in Worship Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year! Scriptures: Isaiah 63:7-14, Galatians 4:4-7, Matthew 2:13-23 • Our Sunday morning worship this week serves as a bridge between Christmas and the New Year—in many ways we’ll be celebrating both, with hymns and songs that continue to say, “Merry Christmas!” and others that align with our thoughts and hearts as we look ahead to what 2023 will bring. The good news is that Christ, the baby boy in Bethlehem, is also the Lord over the New Year. His entering into time signifies that God’s activity and His love are never-ending. We have opened the good gifts He has given through His Son—we are children of God, filled with the Spirit of Christ, and heirs of the kingdom. We have received through Jesus what we need for this new year, and our time is in His hands.

Happy New Year • May the Lord bless you richly throughout this new year with His peace and His power.

Staff Appreciation Gifts—Thank You! • The staff at Prince of Peace would like to say thank you for the staff appreciation gifts received this Christmas season. We are humbled by the generosity of God’s people and thankful to God that we get to be a part of this vibrant community of faith. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Special: As we begin the New Year, we pray that all see that they have always been included in God’s plan for love and life. • May the Lord bless you richly throughout this new year with His peace and His power • We continue to pray for recovery efforts for Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole. • We pray that the Lord would watch over all followers of Jesus everywhere, protecting and defending those who are persecuted for their faith. • We ask the Lord to be with President Biden, members of Congress, and the Supreme Court, as well as all state and local leaders. • We pray for those who serve our nation in the armed services. We also ask the Lord to watch over and keep our first responders safe.
