Week of June 09, 2024

Today: “Stories of Searching” • Genesis 3:8-15; 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1; Mark 3:20-35 • We live in a world filled with stories of searching: stories of people searching for love and companionship; people searching for significance and purpose; people searching for peace and joy. Today God’s Word engages us with the story of our searching God. Jesus is seeking to hold us close, even when we’ve tried to run and hide from Him. He seeks to fill our lives with meaning and power. Jesus seeks to protect us from all evil and fill our lives with His peace. And He does more than just search—we have been found by Him and He has delivered on all of His promises to us. Do you know someone who is searching for something? Help them find the God who takes us from lost to found.

Special: Lord Jesus, apart from You we would be lost, alone, and vulnerable to attack by the evil one. Remind us the extent to which you went so we would be found. Help us to welcome and include all those who find you at Prince of Peace. Help us to invite others to experience the peace that comes with being found by You. • Lord God, you are a friend like no other. Be with all those who will be a part of our Vacation Bible Camp: campers & families, helpers, teachers, leaders. Help all to know that you are a friend who is real; a friend who loves; a friend we can trust; a friend forever; and a friend for everyone. • Watch over and keep safe all those who travel in the days and weeks ahead. • Be with President Biden, members of Congress, and the Supreme Court, as well as all state and local leaders. • Lord, watch over and keep our first responders safe.
