Today: “Welcome to the Celebration” • Isaiah 25:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-11; Mark 16:1-8 • Some 700 years before the first Easter, the Prophet Isaiah painted a picture of a celebration to take place when death is destroyed forever. Today is a part of that celebration because we join to proclaim that Jesus has indeed risen from the dead. How then to make sense of “life in the real world”—a world where grief and sadness, shame and fear, hate and injustice can still be found? Jesus’ tomb is empty, but we are not. Jesus, the Resurrected One, has filled us with His endless life and with the power of His Spirit. The Spirit empowers us to invite others to this table where tears are wiped away, dignity is restored, and new life is offered to all.

Easter hospitality in the FLC • You are cordially invited to join others in the Family Life Center before or after worship where we will have continental breakfast fare available: coffee cake, muffins, donuts, fruit, juice, and coffee, available throughout the morning as supplies last! Please drop in and stay a while, connect with other worshippers, and be filled with resurrection joy!
An Easter Thank You! On this Easter Sunday, we want to thank all those who made our worship of the Risen Lord (and this past Holy Week!) so special: Our choirs, musicians, a/v technicians, and worship team; our volunteers who helped welcome, had a role in worship, arranged flowers, and set up for worship. Thanks, also, to those who planned or participated in our Community Easter Egg Hunt, where 150 children and their families heard the Easter story. And thank you to all who in many, many more ways have honored God through supporting others in our worship and praise of Jesus, our Lord who lives forevermore.
