We Bear Fruit

Jesus preached a message of both Law and Gospel. Jesus was direct in telling his followers that as sinners, all people are accountable before God (“Unless you repent, you too will all perish”). Jesus also used the parable of the fig tree to speak of God’s unfathomable patience and His desire that His Word and His work in our lives would bear fruit. A Steward’s Reflection: What are some of the ways I try to avoid accountability before others or before God? In what ways do I need to grow in trusting Jesus so that I would bear fruit? How is God calling me today to bear fruit for the sake of the Gospel and the extension of His reign into the lives of others?
