Week of March 1, 2026

Today: “Jesus Encounters: Nicodemus” • John 3:1-17; Genesis 12:1-9; Romans 4:1-8, 13-17 • To encounter Jesus is to see signs of God at work—and to discover that something deeper is needed. Drawn by the signs, Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night. There, Jesus reveals God’s kingdom plan: no one can see the kingdom unless they are born from above, born of water and the Spirit. What does the kingdom of God look like? Keep your eyes on Jesus, and like Nicodemus you’ll be carried by the Spirit all the way to the cross where there is new life, deliverance, and blessing.

LENTEN THEME: O God our Help our Hope
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
1 John 5:14

The Lenten season helps us focus our attention on our need for repentance and to turn toward the redemptive mercy and forgiveness that is ours through Jesus. Our observance of Lent prepares us to celebrate the victory and resurrection of Jesus at Easter.

Midweek Lenten Services at 11am • Midweek Lenten Worship dates: Wednesdays March 4, March 11, March 18, March 25 • Each Wednesday at 11:00 am we will gather for worship and prayer in the Sanctuary. As worship Jesus, our help and only hope, we not only focus our attention on our need for repentance, but we call out to Jesus who has the power to help us and whose Spirit fills us with the expectation that He will hear us, answer us, and grant us what is according to His perfect will.

Devotional • Once again this year we are offering a devotion available for the Prince of Peace – Príncipe de Paz community to renew us in a renewable, sustainable vision. The purpose of our 40 days of prayer is to seek God’s guidance to lead us to be faithful to His calling to be a Christ-centered, multicultural church inspired by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacrament to engage the community with God’s grace and love.
