CloseThe season of Epiphany (and our sermon series) ends today with a celebration of the Transfiguration of Christ. The Transfiguration refers to the time Jesus was praying on a mountain with Peter, James, and John, and Jesus’ appearance changed to become radiant, and His glory was revealed. The Scriptures appointed for today speak of us radiating the light of Christ to a world in darkness. “For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord… For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:5,6) What does it mean for us, ordinary people living ordinary lives, to be those chosen to radiate the light of Christ? How important is this job God has entrusted to us? How will God radiate the light of Jesus through you this week?
