Weekly News
Week of June 14, 2026
TODAY: “Take Nothing” • Matthew 9:35-10:20; Exodus 19:2-8; Romans 5:6-15 • We live in a culture that prizes self-sufficiency. We are taught to carry our own weight, meet our own needs, and depend on no one. Yet, , Jesus sends His disciples out with nothing. No financial security. No backup plan. No guarantee of welcome. They are to trust God, receive the hospitality of strangers, and freely give what they have freely received. The kingdom of God grows not through power, wealth, or control, but through vulnerability, generosity, and faith. Perhaps one of the hardest lessons for modern Christians is that God’s kingdom advances when we need one another.

Special: Lord Jesus, teach us to trust You more than our own strength. Make us generous in sharing Your gifts, humble in receiving the gifts of others, and faithful witnesses to Your kingdom wherever You send us. • God of all power, move those who claim Your holy name to “have the same mindset as Christ Jesus,” who “did justice, loved mercy, and walked humbly with you” (Philippians 2:5, Micah 6:8). • We pray for our nation, that the Lord would heal our divisions. Help us to walk the non-violent ways of Jesus. We pray for our world, torn apart by wars, violence, and hatred: Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord Have mercy. • Lord, watch over our first responders and keep them safe.
10th Anniversary of Pulse: As we acknowledge the tragic loss of 49 lives ten years ago, we ask Jesus to help us all reflect His heart to our community and to our world, leading us to be people of peace who draw people to come closer to Jesus because we exhibit His perfect love.

Prayers for our Church Body (LCMS): As congregations in our church body have an opportunity this weekend to vote for a new leader, we pray that the Holy Spirit would move those appointed to be electors to elect a new leader with fresh perspectives, a winsome, pastoral heart, and a vision grounded in the mission and the love of Jesus.
Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible Camp: We thank God for who He is and what He has done for us. Especially we pray that all who were a part of Bible Camp would carry Jesus’ love in their hearts forever.
