Dear Prince of Peace/Principe de Paz Family:
Wonderful celebrations are coming! First: Our Senior Pastor Ken Green is entering his 30th year as a Pastor of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod! Second: Pastor Adolfo Borges enters his 20th year of ministry with us! And third: DCE Erik Gerken enters his 5th year of ministry with us! Through these talented Servant Leaders, the Lord of the Church has provided 55 years of effective and faithful ministry for our sakes. We have been so incredibly blessed!
The Apostle Paul provides a beautiful example of remembering faithful Servant Leaders with words and actions. In his letters to the churches, Paul remembers with commendation leaders like Timothy, Tychicus, Mark, and Dorcas; just a few of the stewards of the early church for which he gave thanks and praise to God.
And so, we too give thanks and praise for the ministries of Pastor Green, Pastor Borges, and DCE Gerken! To that end, we are planning a celebratory event that will include guest speakers, a Saturday evening banquet, celebratory Sunday worship, and special gifts, all honoring their impactful ministry and faithfulness. The Saturday banquet will be held in the Family Life Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. on October 19, 2024. During the banquet, we will be honored to have guest speakers, special messages of thanks, and we intend to give each of our Servant Leaders a gift that reflects our appreciation for their faithful service. Celebrations will continue at regularly scheduled Sunday worship on October 20, 2024.
This event will bring joy to our Pastors and DCE and their families. It will, as well, give them heartfelt encouragement for their continued ministry at Prince of Peace/Principe de Paz.
To help make this celebration a success, we are asking every member of our Congregation to make a special monetary gift so that we have adequate funding for the banquet and special gifts for Pastor Green, Pastor Borges, and DCE Gerkin. You can do this by mailing us your gift of support using the enclosed, self-addressed and stamped envelope, by making a designated donation online, or by including a designated gift in the offering plate at our upcoming services.
We ask that you prayerfully consider financially supporting this wonderful event, and we thank God for your continued faithfulness to and prayers for the continuing mission of Prince of Peace/Principe de Paz to be the Heart, Hands, and Feet of Jesus here in Orlando.
