Week of April 14, 2024

Today: “Courage to Be Bold” • Acts 3:11-21; 1 John 3:1-7; Luke 24:36-49 • After a disabled beggar is healed through the power of Jesus’ name, God gives boldness to Peter and John in speaking to the crowd that gathers. Peter and John do not take credit for themselves. They instead point to Jesus, the Holy and Righteous One, in whose name this man now has faith and complete healing. Do you and I have the courage to point to Jesus when and where we see Him at work? How does God desire to use you and me to help others connect with Jesus, in whose name God offers healing and restoration?

About this series: “Resurrecting Courage” • It takes courage to be a Christian—but perhaps not for the reasons that might immediately come to mind. Some have suggested that the challenge the church faces is less about how our society lost its way, but that it is that the church has forgotten “to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly” with the One who IS the way (Micah 6:8; John 14:6). This Easter season we look at snapshots of the early Christian to gain a sense of how those walking with Jesus submitted to His power and authority and were radically transformed by His grace. May we, too, have courage to walk with Jesus authentically, unapologetic that we bear His name, and committed to show His love and mercy with radical grace.

Volunteers are needed for SCUBA Vacation Bible Camp – June 10-14
Dive in and help us run this major Kid’s Ministry event at Prince of Peace/Príncipe de Paz. No prior diving experience necessary—we will train you! Divers from Middle School and High School teens to adults and senior citizens are needed to fill our team! Won’t you come and help the kids explore friendship with God?
Volunteer roles vary from leading small groups of children to our various stations to leading or helping to lead the stations themselves. We have an awesome curriculum to follow that is designed to be volunteer friendly. All volunteers will receive a new, free “PoP Kids” volunteer t-shirt and will have several training opportunities—both in person or on Zoom. Right now, we need the most help with finding volunteers to help run the Preschool stations. All of the activities are simple to do and fun to lead—we just need the adults with the hearts for Preschool kiddos to jump in and lead them. We will be happy to sit down with interested volunteers and walk them through the stations.
Volunteering starts with filling out the registration form . After you register, DCE Eric Gerken will follow up with you in more detail. Volunteers click here: https://poporlando.breezechms.com/form/615cba
Donations: information will soon be shared about how to donate to Vacation Bible Camp.
