TODAY: “The God of Abundance” • Scripture Readings: Psalm 50:1-15; Hebrews 12:4-17; Luke 13:22-30 • Our God is a God of abundance: He lacks nothing. His abundance is not measured by what we give Him, but by what He freely gives to us. In Psalm 50, the Lord reminds His people that He already owns “every animal of the forest” and the “cattle on a thousand hills.” He doesn’t need our sacrifices; instead, He desires our trust and thanksgiving. From beginning to end, the Bible shows us a God who provides more than enough: manna in the wilderness, overflowing baskets after a meal for 5,000, and finally, life abundant in Christ (John 10:10). Abundance, then, is not about what we possess—it is about knowing the Giver whose love and grace never run dry.

Sunday Nursery • The nursery is available during all Sunday morning services but is only staffed at 11:00am.
9:00am – due to low attendance, we are no longer staffing the nursery for this service. Parents may still use this space with their children but must provide their own supervision.
11:00am – Our trained, background-checked volunteer will continue caring for children ages 6 months to 4 years during the 11:00am services. See DCE Eric for more information!
Bible Classes
Adult Sunday Morning Bible Class at 10:00 am • The class is led by Jim Essig. We are studying the Gospel of John. Classes are in the Music Room during our 10:00 am Education Hour, between 9 am & 11 am worship.
SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR AGE 4 – GRADE 5: Kingdom Quest • Kingdom Quest is a Bible overview curriculum that teaches children the core stories of the Bible and helps them see why they matter today. We help children experience God’s love through Bible stories, crafts, games and more., as we learn to follow Jesus. Youth Bible Class – 10:00am • The youth bible class meets in the board room (church office) for Bible study. They will be looking at what the Bible says about serving him as a teen and having bible-based discussions. Be sure to have the bible app downloaded onto your phone!

Donations Needed for LWML Retreat – Items needed by Sunday, August 31 • The LWML is requesting donations for the Safe Harbor Center, Inc, who help young mothers who are pregnant or parenting that are in need of assistance and guidance. The items they are requesting are baby wipes (unscented), bibs (cloths or silicone), toiletries (shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.), baby blankets (lightweight and warm), and infant towels and washcloths. Donations bins will be in the FLC and narthex.
Last Day to Donate Eyeglasses is Sunday, August 31 • The LWML ladies will be getting ready to gather all the donated eyeglasses to give to their mission coordinator for the future mission trip to Kenya. Thank you to all of those who have contributed to this mission.

Church/Preschool Offices Closed • Offices will be closed on Monday, September 1 for Labor Day. A federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday in September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.
Confirmation Orientation – Sunday, September 7 • Confirmation Classes Begin in September. Middle and High School students not yet confirmed are invited to join our weekly classes on the Lutheran faith, using Luther’s Small Catechism. Most sessions will be via Zoom on Wednesday or Thursday nights, concluding with Confirmation in May. RSVP by Sept. 4 to DCE Eric Gerken with questions.
New Parish Choir season – Begins Thursday, September 4 at 7pm – 8pm • Come and join us, even just to give it a try! The Parish Choir will be starting a new season of choir rehearsal on Thursday evening, September 4. The Parish Choir helps to worship at the 9 am traditional service on Sunday mornings. Whether you’re an experienced singer who reads music, a new singer who doesn’t read a note, or someone in between, we’d love to have you join us! Worthy Is the Lamb is a spiritual invitation to grow in faith, deepen our relationships, and expand God’s kingdom together as people meet for prayer and conversation, celebrating God’s work among us, and praying for the future.
