Week of June 1, 2025

Weekly News 06/01/2025    Ascension Sunday TODAY: “Unfinished” • Acts 1:1-11; Ephesians 1:15–23; Luke 24:44–53 • Jesus, our risen Lord, appeared to His disciples over 40 days, giving them many “convincing proofs” that He was truly alive (Acts 1:3). Ascension Day refers to that 40th day when Jesus was miraculously taken up into heaven to reign over all things. Before Jesus ascended, He told His followers that the work of reaching the world with His love was unfinished. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, those disciples and all who would follow carry on Jesus’ work: “You will be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth.” The work remains unfinished—there are still those who need to hear of God’s love. Jesus has included us in His mission today.
