Week of October 27, 2024

Today: Reformation Sunday • Readings: Revelation 14:6-7; Romans 3:19-28; John 8:31-36 • As we observe the anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, we remember that central to the Christian faith is the truth that forgiveness, eternal life, and salvation are free gifts of God’s grace through the redemption that comes by Jesus Christ. By faith we believe that Jesus has set us free from sin and death and has made us children of God. We thank God for revealing these truths through Holy Scripture and that He has given His Word to guide us in faith and life.

Empower us to serve others and lead many so they, too, are under Your reign. • We continue to pray for those affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene, asking the Lord to be with those who grieve, to provide for those who have lost homes and possessions, and to watch over those responding to these disasters, and to be with those churches that have been affected. • Be with President Biden, members of Congress, and the Supreme Court, as well as all state and local leaders. Guide our nation during this election season. Watch over the candidates and give wisdom to our citizens as we approach election day. • Watch over and keep all our first responders safe.
