Today: “Look, Listen, Love” • Matthew 17:1-9; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Exodus 24:8-18 • At Jesus’ Transfiguration, His appearance was radically changed: “His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light”—a revelation of the glory He always possessed as the eternal Son of God. Yet while His appearance changed, His identity and mission did not. He remained true God and true man, sent to redeem and reclaim a broken creation through humble, self-giving love.

From the cloud came the Father’s voice: “Listen to Him.” That same voice speaks to us today through God’s Word, inviting us to examine how well we are truly listening—how faithfully we are walking in His ways of humility, love, and justice.

Lent begins on Wednesday, February 18
LENTEN THEME:  O God our Help our Hope
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
1 John 5:14

Ash Wednesday – February 18
11:00am               Traditional Service (light lunch to follow)
6:00pm                 Intergenerational Ash Wednesday Devotion in the Family Life Center (light dinner following)
7:00pm                 Miércoles de ceniza (Spanish worship)

The Lenten season helps us focus our attention on our need for repentance and to turn toward the redemptive mercy and forgiveness that is ours through Jesus. The sign of ashes speaks of the frailty and uncertainty of human life, marking the penitence of the Christian community. The sign of Cross reminds us of the lengths to which Jesus would go to redeem us and makes us God’s own. The 11am service will have a light lunch to follow.

JUST ADDED- Wednesday at 6:00pm: Intergenerational Imposition of Ashes, Devotion & Dinner in the Family Life Center at 6pm. New this year we are inviting people of all ages and stages to this brief, early-evening Ash Wednesday devotion with imposition of ashes and a light dinner to follow. All in the Family Life Center.

Midweek Lenten Services at 11am *Midweek Lenten Worship dates: Wednesdays February 25, March 4, March 11, March 18, March 25* | Each Wednesday at 11:00 am we will gather for worship and prayer in the Sanctuary.
